Wet N Wild Wednesday is coming for Jr. and Sr. High youth on Wednesday night, July 1, 6:30-8:30pm @ The Warehouse. Let’s have some fun and beat the summer heat! We will have water balloon fights, water gun wars, mogul hill slip and slides, sand volleyball, and every youth will have a chance to nail a youth leader with a high powered balloon launcher. We will serve hot dogs, sodas, and chips. Cost is $2 per person. Plus, we are going to have a live DJ [DJ Cruz] playing music! And, don’t forget, B.Y.O.W.G. [Bring Your Own Water Gun]! FYI, dress to get wet, but dress modestly [i.e. NO bikinis unless you are willing to wear a t-shirt!]. Contact Jason Dail or Jon Michael Vasek for more details!

Calling all incoming 5th graders! Join us on Wednesday night, June 3rd, from 6:30-8:30pm, @ The Warehouse [The Seven Lakes 5th graders will join with the rest of the Seven Lakes youth group on Sunday night, May 31, @ The Center.]. This is a youth group night dedicated specifically to you! Come on out, have some food and lots of fun. More importantly, get to know our youth ministry staff and vice versa! Also, on Sunday morning, June 7th, this is our official move up for all grades. So, on Sunday morning, plan to head to The Warehouse [The Library at Seven Lakes] for Shift_!

July 26-31, we are headed to Austin, TX for a Jr. High Mission Trip. We will leave from CrossPoint on Sunday, July 26, around noon and return on Friday, July 31, around 5pm. We will come together with other youth groups from around the country, build relationships, worship together, have devotions, and find opportunities to serve each other. We will be doing various service projects around the Austin community. The cost is $200 per student, which includes transportation, food, and lodging. The students will also need to have $$ for two fast food meals [on the way there and on the way back]. A $50 deposit is due by May 31. Space is limited and filling up fast! On May 16, 2009, 28 Jr. High students are professing their faith in Jesus. Come and join the worship service at 2pm for our Seven Lakes campus students and at 4pm for our Westgreen campus youth. Both services will be held at the Westgreen campus worship center. This is a big moment in the lives of these young men and women. Come out and support them!

It is hard to believe, but Easter Sunday is right around the corner… Sunday, April 12th. Join us at our Seven Lakes campus at 10:30am and at our Westgreen campus at 9:30am and 11am. We are in extra need of volunteers at both our campuses in youth ministry. The Seven Lakes youth are going to meet in the 9th grade center. The Westgreen youth are going to meet in the current worship center. We will need assistance with music, sound technology, audio visual, setup, takedown, etc. Also, our children’s ministry needs help with our Easter Egg hunts. If you have ever tried to herd cats, you know how much we need extra hands both in the pre-school and school age hunts at each of our campuses. Join us on Sunday night, April 19th, for a night of prayer. As part of our “Beyond the Tub” series and CrossPoint expansion process, the Jr. and Sr. High youth of our church have decided to pray for our community out in our community. Join us at 5pm at the Westgreen Campus Warehouse. We will start off with pizza and cokes and have some time of worship. Then, we will go out to every high school in the Katy area and pray for that region of our city. We will head first to Cinco Ranch, then to Seven Lakes, then to Katy, then to Morton Ranch, then to Mayde Creek, then to Taylor, and then wrap back up at The Warehouse at 8pm. The evening is free. Well, our Mexico Mission trip team met last week! Even though we didn’t get to take our trip down to Mexico this year to serve the orphanage at Casa Hogar, we did pack up a bunch of boxes full of food, toys, clothes, sporting goods, toiletries, medicines, etc. Also, in lieu of taking a secondary trip this year that would decrease $$, we have decided to give the focused impact giving, from January and February, of $12,000, to the orphanage at Casa Hogar. To ensure accountability, we are flowing these $$ through UKANDU missions.
